Casper Ruud is a 22-year-old Norwegian professional tennis player. He is the first Norwegian to win an ATP title (having won six) and to reach the semifinals of ATP Tour Masters 1000 events on clay courts. 

He is the highest-ranked Norwegian player in ATP history (surpassing his father, Christian Ruud) with a career-high ranking in singles of World No. 8. He played Alexander Bublik and Marcos Giron in the previous rounds of the Paris Masters and will play Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals. 

Alexander Zverev is full of confidence coming into this tournament as he was victorious in the previous tournament in Austria, which was Vienna ATP Cup Open 2021. 

Zverev, from Germany, is currently the number four ATP ranked player, his highest ATP rank has been three. Zverev is the most recent gold medalist of the Olympic singles category that took place in Tokyo in 2021. 

The German holds five ATP Masters 1000 titles. He was the runner up at the US Open last year. In the previous rounds, he played Dusan Lajovic and Grigor Dimitrov. He will be playing Casper Ruud in the Quarterfinals.
