Arsenal heavily linked to signing PSG full-back Layvin Kurzawa

The Gunners are looking to bolster their options in defence as both Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney have suffered injuries. Both left-backs will be out of action as Arsenal have no way other than signing a new player to provide a solution.

Arsenal have held talks with PSG to sign the France International and the move is said to be imminent as Mikel Arteta is desperate to revive his club's hopes of ending their Premier League Campaign on a high note.

The talks between both sides have reportedly reached the climax with the North London club looking to seal the transfer by all means. Kurzawa's contract runs till the end of this season which means that he will be available on a free transfer.

Arsenal are not ready to wait as they look to sign the player on a nominal fee. The 27-year old defender moved to Paris from Monaco in a deal worth €22 million in 2015.

With Paris, he has achieved a decent title record winning nine domestic honors overall that includes three Ligue 1 trophies as well as three Coupes de Ligue and Three coupes de France.

In the past twelve months, however, he has featured irregularly for the club owing to an injury-ridden spell. Juan Bernat's signing made led to Kurzawa falling down in the pecking order. The Frenchman has also just made 13 appearances this season.

With a limited transfer budget, Arsenal are looking out for reinforcements and Kurzawa seems to be a perfect choice for the empty left back slot. For now, teenage winger Bukayo Saka will be played in the position.

Speaking on their defensive woes, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has stated:

“We are playing with full-backs that are not full-backs. They are wingers or central midfielders and could we afford to lose full-backs? No, but we don’t have any full-backs. 

“We have a lot of issues at the back, it can happen between December and January, it is very common. We have to live with it. 

“We have to put 11 players out on the pitch on Saturday and I am sure we will. They will try their best, and I will try to select the ones who in my opinion are the best fit for that game.”
