When the match started it looked like both teams will have a purpose in this game but an early goal from Liverpool showed it will be another long day for the Red Devils. Defensive lapses, un-marking of players, no passion in their eyes as they went on to concede 4 four goals within 45minutes. 

Mohmed Salah, the man, the myth, the legend yielded another masterclass performance on this big occasion bagging a hattrick at their enemy’s ground. He was just pure class, not only him the entire team showed great tenacity in the game firing goals one after another.

1. History Makers 

Liverpool became the first team to win back-to-back away games by a margin of at least five goals without conceding. The last time Liverpool produced this masterclass performance was back in April 1935.  

2. Mohamed Salah on the roll 

The Egyptian has been on fine form scoring 15 goals in just 12 appearances.

• First-ever player to score in three successive visits to Old Trafford.

3. Klopp’s 200 victories as Liverpool manager 

The 5-0 win over Manchester United was Jurgen Klopp’s 200 wins as a Liverpool manager. In doing so he became the fastest manager in Liverpool history to reach that milestone figure. 

It took Klopp only 331 matches to do so, while Sir Kenny Dalglish, 19 fewer than Bob Paisley and 51 fewer than Bill Shankly.

4. What went wrong for the United? 

In the game against Liverpool, Manchester United lacked cohesion, allowed too much space to the opposition, failed to coordinate a press while out of possession. The team looked as they are Sunday league games, even those Sunday league teams play better than this Manchester United team. 

Time and time again they failed to organise their wide areas; leaving them completely open and the players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah made the most of it and duly punished them. Not only at defense, but they were also equally embarrassing at front. 

With Bruno being kept quiet and Ronaldo hitting at Curtis Jones before his goal was rule offside.  Marcus Rashford and Greenwood were abysmal lacking concentration and quality. Manchester United were outclassed in every aspect. 

5. What’s next for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer? 

In the post-game conference, Solskjaer said “ I have come too far to give up" despite overseeing Sunday's 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool at Old Trafford. 

"The feeling we have had is we were getting where we wanted to be but in the last few weeks results haven't come and we have hit a brick wall. We have conceded too many easy goals and that is a concern."

This defeat set many unwanted landmarks and the triumph was Liverpool's biggest win at Old Trafford in their history. 

The pressure is sky-high on Solskjaer and many fans want him out while few pundits are still backing him. Ole has the squad but where he’s going wrong.? The Norwegian manager was appointed in 2018 but is yet to win a trophy with the Reds Devils. 

And it looks like he will be sacked before he wins any trophy with the club.
