An intriguing match on Sunday ended all square, with Jadon Sancho and Jorginho scoring for their respective team. Sportco delivers a verdict on the player ratings for the match between Chelsea and Manchester United.

Dominating Chelsea fell to 1-1 draw after making countless big opportunities and limiting their opponents to only three shots. The Blues were left disappointed with having 22 shots, and only one was converted through penalty.

Chelsea were the superior side in this game as the host created numerous chances. The very first was when Callum Hudson-Odoi had the best chance to open the account for Chelsea but was denied by De Gea. 

It looked like another long night for Manchester United, but they showed great resilience and limited Chelsea’s effort and were comfortable in shape.

However, Manchester United were lucky when Jorginho couldn’t control the ball, and Jadon Sancho had the simplest of chances, as he calmly slotted the ball past Edouard Mendy. 

Although the game was not over when Aaron Wan-Bissaka kicked Thiago Silva in the box resulting in a penalty, which Jorginho placed into the bottom-left corner making his redemption.

Chelsea had two more big opportunities but were wasted by Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger.

Edouard Mendy: 6/10- Was left helpless against Jadon Sancho in a one-on-one situation. Overall didn’t have to do too much as Chelsea dominated the game. 

Trevoh Chalobah: 7/10- Looked confident on the ball and made fine tackles at times. 

Thiago Silva: 8/10-  Helped the team earn a penalty when they were desperately looking for a goal and was resolute at the back throughout the match. Hence, T. Silva's player ratings for the Chelsea vs Manchester United game is a well deserved 8/10.

Antonio Rudiger: 8/10- Kept Sancho quiet most of the time, helped the team in attack, and persistently mopped the space. Could have scored a winning goal.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek: 7/10- Always alert and made clean passes with great game reading.

David de Gea: 7/10- Made two fine saves and was rock solid between the sticks. 

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 7/10- Thwarted Werner from scoring the winning goal and also gave away the penalty. Hudson-Odoi caused him trouble, and he should work on his pace.

Victor Lindelof: 7/10- Tasked with keeping Werner and Ziyech limited. Grew quickly as the game progressed. 

Eric Bailly: 8/10- It seems like nobody missed Maguire when Baily was playing in his place as he produced a great performance tonight. Hope he keeps his place after the captain returns. 

Alex Telles: 5/10- Mediocre overall, almost gave a goal in the game’s opening stages. 

Fred: 7/10- Looked full of energy and kept pressing Chelsea players. Had a great chance to turn things around but wasted it, apparently. 

Nemanja Matic: 6/10-  was very trickery today and produced some great passes. He was seen on the ball most of the time. 

Scott McTominay: 8/10- One of his better performances in the middle of the park recently, kept closing down the players and made some good tackles.
