The Swiss under-20 international is blessed with bags of pace and boasts tremendous energy.
Barcelona sent ex-midfielder 56-year-old Jose Mari Bakero to Switzerland to watch the youngster in action, as they reportedly lead the race for one of the most sought after youngsters in Europe right now.
According to reports in Switzerland, Chelsea are also in the race for the wonderkid.
Arigoni is said to have clocked a speed of 35.1km/h this season. It makes him joint quickest with Bundesliga's Achraf Hakimi of Borussia Dortmund.
Although no official bids have been put forward for the young Swiss defender, both club could launch formal offers soon.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has already been linked with several players and a few of them could be finalized in the next few days.
Lyon's Moussa Dembele and Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani are both on the radar of the Blues.
However, Cavani is also a target of both Manchester United and Atletico Madrid and the latter are more likely to sign the Uruguayan.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are also in the race for a new striker as they are also looking for a replacement of injured Luis Suarez.
The Uruguay superstar will be out for the next three months and the Spanish giants are thought to be after Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
