Arsenal target in-form Sheffield United midfield sensation
As per reports in England, high-flying Sheffield United could consider selling in-form midfielder John Fleck to Arsenal but only if their £20 million valuation is met.
The 28-year-old Scotsman has played a key part in Chris Wilder's side this season who have performed beyond all kinds of expectations.
The Blades are enjoying a fine start to their life back in the top tier of English football. Wilder's side are seventh in the league, only six points off the top four and Fleck has played a key role behind that.
However. they may be left with no choice but to sell the Scottish midfielder if he continues to maintain his impressive form.
The Scotsman joined Wilder's side on a free transfer back in 2016 and since then it has been a sensational journey for the team as well as the player.
He has played a major part in dragging the club from League One to the top flight and his performances earned him a call-up as well to the Scottish national team.
The former Rangers midfielder has made 160 appearances for Sheffield United, scoring 13 goals and supplying 41 assists from midfield.
He has had an impressive return of five goals and two assists in 21 Premier League outings this season, which has alerted some of the bigger clubs of the country.
According to reports in England, Fleck has been on Mikel Arteta's radar for some time now. The interest has grown further after his late equalizer at the Emirates on Saturday.
Arteta is keen on strengthening his squad following his team's poor performances so far and Fleck would certainly be a quality addition to the Gunners' midfield.
The Gunners are 10th in the league and are closer to the relegation zone than the top four after just one win in their last seven league games.
Despite the sacking of Unai Emery, the club have struggled to turn their form around and the summer transfer window will be a vital one if Arteta is to get the club back into the top four.
The Arsenal boss is also considering moves for Bayern Munich central defender Jerome Boateng and Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa.
